Alexis Schwartz is the Assistant Director at American Jewish Committee (AJC), Washington DC and has been in the role since August, 2023.
She comes to AJC from the Jewish Federations of North America where she was the Director of the Civic Engagement Incubator. Prior to her role at JFNA, she served as the Israel Action Center Director at the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington.
Alexis is a strategic thinker, an innovative programmer, and has nearly a decade of experience in the community relations field.
She has been a Charles Bronfman Convener with the Israel Policy Forum, a Delegate to the exclusive Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Seminar for Young Jewish Leaders program, has spoken on Israel engagement and advocacy at national conferences and throughout the Greater DC Jewish community, and helped create, develop, and serve as lead educator for the JCRC’s teen Israel programs.
Alexis is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs with a BA in Political Communication. Alexis grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and has called the Washington, DC area home for the last 20 years. She and her husband live in Silver Spring with their two children.
Alexis will discuss the current crisis in Israel and the antisemitic actions across the US and Europe.
