Sisterhood

President's Message

On May 24, Shabbat morning, our newly elected Sisterhood officers will be installed. We have a wonderful group of women who will carry on all our Sisterhood functions and services. The installation will be conducted jointly with the new officers of the Congregation and Men's Club.

I have enjoyed working with our Sisterhood and Congregation these past two years and am looking forward to supporting our new teams as a past president and congregant.

I wish to extend special thanks to our sisterhood members: to Larelda Gruber and Margit Beckman who set up our weekly Shabbat Kiddushim and to all those who helped with serving and clean-up; to Susan Shulman and her team who planned the Book Club sessions; to Gila Landman for the Rosh Chodesh classes; to Evelyn Block for Membership; to Lil Goldberg for Programming; to Bea Marx and Muriel Breger for maintaining our finances; to Joan Eisenberg for her timely and meaningful Leagrams; to Karen Borenstein and Melissa Katz for publicity; and to all those not mentioned who have taken part in some of our endeavors and have always been there to help when needed, I wish to express my special and heartfelt Thanks.

Please note: Seaboard Region Women's League Conference will take place on May 18, 2008

Zucchini Kugel Recipe

As Prepared by Lillian Goldberg

Ingredients
3 Cups - Drained, grated zucchini with skin on
1 Cup - Bisquick or pancake mix
½ Cup - Onion, finely chopped
½ Cup - Parmesan cheese
3 Tablespoons - Parsley, chopped
½ Teaspoon - Salt
½ Teaspoon - Dried oregano
Dash - Pepper
1 - Garlic clove minced
½ Cup - Cooking Oil (Canola)
4 - Eggs (Or 2 eggs and 2 egg whites)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9" square pan. Beat eggs slightly. Add and mix all other ingredients. Pour mixture into pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a brown crust if formed.

This recipe can be made in advance and frozen. When ready to use, thaw slightly and reheat in oven at 350 degrees uncovered. Before freezing, kugel can be cut into small portions. It freezes well and holds its shape. For a larger kugel, 9" x 18", just double the ingredients.
